Royal Winnipeg Ballet's The Wizard of Oz

Royal Winnipeg Ballet's The Wizard of Oz

THIS EVENT SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 28-29, 2020 HAS BEEN CANCELED.

Frank L Baum’s tale of family, friendship and courage is vividly brought to life by choreographer Septime Webre in The Wizard of Oz. This collaboration between the RWB, Kansas City Ballet and Colorado Ballet offers an inventive new take on this timeless tale.

Webre, the creator of Alice (in Wonderland), takes audiences on a fantastical journey to the Emerald City. Filled with all the familiarity of the classic movie – Dorothy and Toto swept to Oz join up with three unlikely heroes to see the Wizard, their triumph over the Wicked Witch, and the quest to return home – yet realized with a bold, new spectacle of music, costumes, sets, projections and special effects. This is the must-see family event of the season.

Storyline and visual element from the MGM Motion Picture The Wizard of Oz provided by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures.

Choreography by Septime Webre
