LINCOLN, NEB. – The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln presents the longest running sellout on Broadway, CHICAGO, in four performances Oct. 19 through 21. Tickets for the two evening shows or two matinees may be purchased at the Lied Center Ticket Office located at 12th and Q Street in downtown Lincoln, by phone at 402.472-4747 or online at www.liedcenter.org.

Murder. Greed. Corruption. Violence. Exploitation. Adultery. Treachery. Lied audiences enthusiastically asked for a return of the musical set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920’s. CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.

Pre-show talks scheduled one half hour before each performance will be led by local performers including Laurie Martinez Lessman, Cris Rook, Alisa Belflower, and Scott Anderson. The talks, free to ticket holders, will be in the Lied Center's Steinhart Room.

Now celebrating 13 glorious years of girls, glitz and glamour on the Great White Way, the record-breaking smash hit musical CHICAGO is now the sixth longest-running musical production in Broadway history ... and shows no sign of ever slowing down.
