Mosey on down to the Lied Center for Performing Arts on March 24, 2017, for an evening of laughs, yodels and “Happy Trails” memories, as Riders in The Sky present a Salute to Roy Rogers, King of the Cowboys. The performance is at 7:30 p.m.
The quartet of America’s favorite singing cowboys was last at The Lied in October 2013. This time the foursome will showcase a 90-minute multimedia romp featuring audience-friendly favorites from Rogers’ long career, including “Don’t Fence Me In” and “Pecos Bill,” all appearing on the Riders’ latest album saluting Roy Rogers.
“Riders in The Sky deliver music and merry-making sure to delight all, from youngsters to old-timers,” said Bill Stephan, executive director of the Lied Center.
Along with songs, their legendary western wit and the two-time GRAMMY®-winning high-style yodeling that put the Riders “hats and shoulders” above others in their field, the evening features film clips of Rogers on screen with Trigger and snippets of Dale Evans and the Sons of Pioneers.
“A song-filled…action-packed show that recaptures the glories of Hollywood and early television westerns,” according to the New Jersey Herald.
