Description of Work: 

Manage all fundraising programs at the Lied Center including individual giving, corporate sponsorship, grants and major gifts. Manager is responsible for implementing an annual development plan and contributing to long term strategy. Responsible for hiring and supervising development staff. Manager will participate actively in direct fundraising activities and cultivation.

Minimum Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, art administration/arts, hospitality or related field (equivalency considered) plus three (3) years management of nonprofit fundraising/development experience, with proven work history of raising no less than $100,000 in annual campaign support at a recognized organization (incorporated) required. Experience cultivating relationships with current and potential contributors essential. Must have experience in corporate fundraising, development of individual giving and grant writing or equivalent. Working knowledge of PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software necessary. Superior interpersonal relationship skills; strong communication skills (both oral and written); and proven management/leadership abilities required.

High energy, positive, can-do attitude, flexibility, attention to detail and high degree of initiative. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement strategy. Good computer skills and knowledge of database programs. Ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Prefer Master’s degree in business, art administration/arts, hospitality or related field and two or more years of experience working in a performing arts/arts administration environment. Experience in planned giving and capital development campaigns desirable. Preferred experience in development planning. Prefer high energy, positive can-do attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, high degree of initiative and demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement strategy. Experience managing donor data using fundraising software is a plus. Performing arts background desired.
