Friends of Lied Board of Directors

After graduating with a music major in college, I found myself teaching vocal and instrumental music for grades 7–12 at a small consolidated high school in Iowa. This teaching job became a good fit for me since I loved introducing music performance and musical theater to students. Then, through many professional twists of fate, for more than 30 years I found myself at the administrative level of Lincoln Public Schools supporting technology in the classroom.  Throughout those years I was also a frequent attendee of Lied Center performances as well as a Friends of Lied Member. After retiring from Lincoln Public Schools, I was thrilled to be asked to join the Friends of Lied Board of Directors, since it brought me back full circle to the music and theater world I so love. I’m honored to have the important responsibility of leading this wonderful group of talented people.

As an educator, I appreciate the importance of supporting the Lied Center’s educational mission of nurturing the next generation of artists, cultivating creativity, and fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts within our community. Please join our growing family of the Friends of Lied at any membership level to support this mission and help bring world-class entertainment to the Lied Center.

If you would like to nominate yourself, or someone you know, for a position on the Friends of Lied board, please download, fill out, and return the New Member Commitment Summary & Nomination Form above to Amy Ossian at aossian2@unl.edu. Nomination forms will be reviewed by the current board of directors at the beginning of each calendar year and prospective board members will be notified after the March board meeting. New board members will begin their positions in May of each year.
