I am honored to be the President of the Friends of Lied this year. Six years ago a close friend who was a member of the Friends asked me to join the Board and I accepted. The mission of the Friends of Lied to support the performing arts and to provide arts education to everyone spoke to me, so I got involved. I have always supported the arts in attending many of the performances at the Lied and other venues. I also strongly support arts education. Education is my background. After graduate school, I started a 38-year career teaching business courses in the business program at Southeast Community College in Lincoln. Friends of Lied contribute greatly to arts education. I believe every child should have an opportunity to experience the arts. That exposure may shape their career and life forever!
Please consider joining the Friends of Lied at any level and I promise you that your contribution will help shape the life of a future performer or help a future audience member appreciate the performing arts.
