It’s my honor and pleasure to serve at the President of the Friends of Lied Board of Directors this year. When the Lied Center for Performing Arts opened back in 1990, thoughtful people decided to form Friends of Lied at the same time the as a way of raising funds to sustain the longevity of this impressive hub for culture and the arts.
Today, the Friends of Lied has more than 1,200 members from across the state and this year, there are 59 members of the Board of Directors. The Board promotes membership and hosts fundraising events so we can provide funds to the Lied Center. Last spring, we donated $675,000! This is a particularly exciting year for the Lied. In addition to the wonderful lineup of performances, we’ll get to witness beautiful and important updates to the building, thanks to the Building the Future campaign.
Even if you are like me and didn’t get introduced to live theatre until later in life, you know how inspiring it can be. Live theatre brings people together, opens minds and enhances humanity.
Become a Friends of Lied member today to help the Lied Center for Performing Arts continue to bring high-caliber live shows to our community and state-wide.
