A young cello student basks in the teachings of Yo-Yo Ma on the Lied Stage, knowing she will never play the instrument the same again. A 3rd grader in McCook learns what a classical quartet sounds like for the first time from Arts Across Nebraska, and finds he loves it. A grandmother takes her granddaughter to the Lied to see Alvin Ailey Dance, and her granddaughter’s dream to be a dancer is born.

As Nebraska’s “Home for the Arts,” the Lied Center for Performing Arts is transforming the lives of the people of Nebraska every day.

These life-changing moments are all part of the Lied Center’s mission to educate, inspire and entertain the people of Nebraska through the performing arts, a mission that can continue only with the support of people in the community. Ticket sales cover just under half of the yearly costs to present artists and provide educational outreach. Donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations are an investment in the future of the Lied Center, and the future of the entire community.
