Daniil Trifonov

Daniil Trifonov

Praised as “the most astounding pianist of our age” by London’s The Times, GRAMMY® Award-winning pianist Daniil Trifonov makes his Lied Center debut with a program showcasing extraordinary range. Handel’s Suite No. 5 in E Major (“The Harmonious Blacksmith”) opens the concert followed by Stravinsky’s sole piano sonata and Schubert’s beloved “Wanderer Fantasy,” a powerful musical depiction of a stranger’s search for meaning and happiness in a strange land. Trifonov’s stylistic exploration continues on the program’s second half featuring Brazilian, Argentine, and Dominican composers as well as his own original Tango! Combining consummate technique with rare sensitivity and depth, Trifonov’s performances are a perpetual source of wonder to audiences and critics alike.
